The big day is finally here.... Super Mario 3D World, the most anticipated Wii U title since the system came out a year ago is officially released across Europe and the UK today and will follow in Australia in a day or two. Of course it has been out in the U.S and Japan etc for a week already but don't even get me started on that. (Yeah I know, its always been the same, but it doesn't make it any less irritating).

This will be the most multiplayer focused Mario platforming adventure to date and also features epic 1080P HD visual, an orchestrated soundtrack and tweaked controls and physics over New Super Mario Bros U, which could admittedly be a little irritating in multiplayer.

So get ready to embark on a mission to rescue the Sprixie Princesses from the clutches of Bowser, a tall order I know, but with the new power-ups by your side such as the super bell making you into a cat, cannon box power-up to blast your foes into oblivion etc this should take the edge off.

My copy is due in 1 hour, if DPD fail me, I am going to be very upset.

We am partnering with a popular Twitch TV channel starting from tonight and will be livestreaming Mario Fridays starting of course with Super Mario 3D World. This will be starting approx 8pm UK time tonight, like us on facebook, join us on google or twitter and I'll post the link to the livestreams there, you should come check us out.

This is the most hyped Mario title I can remember in an extremely long time, heres a sample of some of the reviews its been getting from some of the larger online gaming authority sites:-

Eurogamer - 10/10 review score
"3D World is an endless freewheeling treat of a game, and it starts with what feels like one of the greatest Mario power-ups of all time: Cat Mario"

CVG - 10/10 review score
"Super Mario 3D World is brimming over with invention and generosity. Of all the games released in the next couple of months, it might deserve the biggest fanfare of them all."

Nintendo Life - 10/10 review score
"This is a definitive 3D Mario experience, succesfully finding a middle-ground between the iconic Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy"

IGN - 9.6/10 review score
"Super Mario 3D World is marvelous, and its constant variety and fantastic light-hearted co-op play proves that Nintendo still knows exactly how to tweak the Mario formula in fun ways."

Edge - 9/10 review score
"This is Mario like you've never seen him before, and unlike so many of his next-gen rivals, he nips along at an effortless 60fps. If the true measure of new hardware's worth is how stark the difference is between it and what came before, then this is the most next-gen game that 2013 has yet produced."

And as we know Super Mario 3D World is spearheading a nice "pipe"line of upcoming big hitters for Nintendo, Zelda's Link Between worlds has just dropped, and we still have Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros U and 3DS to look forward to in the earlier part of 2014.

Nintendo have also got a Wii U premium bundle set up now that includes New Super Mario Bros U, New Super Luigi U as well as Super Mario 3D World in one bundle. You can check that out on their official store.

So I guess most people reading this have already been playing SM3D World? oh you've already finished it? I see :-( Well I'm in the UK so I don't even get it til 29th November (5 days to go)... so the only thing I've had to do with my time today is make a video out of the Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games artwork and screenshots.

Can you remember the music I've used in the background? feel free to post guesses in the comments, this ones quite easy but the next theme I use on an art video will be a lot harder to guess (it will still be from Mario series).

Nintendo and Norwegian Cruise Line have announced the expansion of their partnership by adding the Wii U to their fleet. This is exciting news for gamers all around as they can take part in various competitions whilst onboard Norwegian Cruise ships on the new HD Wii U systems, aswell as playing the latest video games in the kids clubs and atriums.

Nintendo and Norwegian first teamed up in March 2007 when the Wii was added to all of their ships. This has been a huge success with the 'Freestyle Cruise Liner' and led to the introduction of the Wii U. This will take gaming to a whole new level as you sail to your destination - action and adventure as you have never seen before with high definitions graphics bringing the game to life. There's something for the whole family, whether its sports or puzzles that is your guilty pleasure.

Wii U systems on cruise ships

Nintendo will run an update in December 2013 for the Nintendo 3DS portable systems. This will allow gamers to combine their Nintendo eShop account balance for both Nintendo 3DS and the newest console on the market, the Nintendo Wii u.

Once the Nintendo system update is complete, gamers can register their Nintendo Network ID for the Wii U on their Nintendo 3DS systems. This can then be combined with the Nintendo eShop account balances, which will allow users to purchase Wii U software using their remaining balance on the Nintendo 3DS eShop accounts, as well as doing this in reverse. Nintendo 3DS owners who do not own a Wii U can now create their own Nintendo Network ID for the very first time

Once the system update is complete, this will then mark the beginning of the Miiverse support on the Nintendo 3DS. Gamers will now be able to communicate and connect with players all around the globe on their unique Nintendo ID. You can exchange game tips, discover new elements of your favourite game, as well as sharing the experience with someone as passionate about gaming as you are. Be sure to register and connect to Miiverse and take gaming to the next level. For more details, you can visit http://www.nintendo.com/3ds/nnid

So it was my birthday on Wednesday, and I got one of these and a Wii U Pro controller, which was the best present I've had probably since the Super Mario World SNES bundle in 1991.

The premium pack comes with a 32GB Wii U Premium edition, and a single disc which includes both NEW SUPER MARIO BROS U and NEW SUPER LUIGI U, it also includes loads of videos of play throughs of both of those games, how to beat all the challenges with gold medals, how to do loads of cool tricks to get lots of 1-Up's, and some "SuperPlay" videos, which are basically videos a madskilled Nintendo guy playing through some levels, to make normal gamers feel inferior... impressive non the less.

Mario & Luigi: Wii U 32gb Premium Pack

So, why do you care? Well for anyone who got New Super Mario Bros U or New Super Luigi U when it came out all that time ago, there may have been some of the challenges which you weren't able to get gold medals on, some tricks you might not have know about etc, I am capturing all of the bonus videos in 1080P HD at the moment for you guys to check out on our YouTube channel - I've already added quite a few of them and you really should check them out, this is NEXT LEVEL gaming.

If you like the ones I've put up already you should consider subbing us, as I'll be adding the rest of the SuperPlay videos in full HD over the next few days, weeks. I'll also be putting up the New Super Luigi U ones straight after that.

A SuperPlay of some levels of Acorn Plains from New Super Mario Bros U on one of the bonus videos.

For anyone who has been considering a Wii U but not taken the plunge yet, this has to be the deal that converts you,  you can now get this from Amazon, at the time of writing its priced £219.99, Mario & Luigi 32GB Wii U Premium Bundle, a pretty good deal for a Wii U 32gb with 2 first party Nintendo games I'd say!
