On Saturday, July 20 at 10:30am EST (GMT -5) Insomniac Gamers will hold a 20-hour speed run gaming marathon to benefit Child's Play Charity. Some of the series to be covered in the marathon include Zelda, Mario Bros, Metal Gear Solid, Pokemon and Dark Souls. Specifically, Super Mario World 2 and Mario 64 will be speed run. The marathon will be broadcast live via Twitch at http://www.insomniacgamers.net . Everyone is invited to join in the live chat and interact with the streamer as well as other gaming fans.

The marathon will benefit Child's Play Charity [http://www.childsplaycharity.org], a charity which uses donations to buy games and toys for children who are in the hospital long-term. Donations will go directly to the charity via a donation widget. Paypal and most forms of electronic payment are accepted. Please visit them for a good cause on Saturday, July 20th!

I would like to congratulate our friends at the Bottle Crew  for their recent success with the Mariothon - 72 hours of live streaming gaming; this year in the theme of Yoshi and Kirby.

They managed to raise $1,769.69 for the Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation. A great effort from both teams but seeing team Yoshi the winners

Money raised: Team Yoshi - $1,025.40 / Team Kirby - $744.29

Well done all, we look forward to their next event which will be a Mario vs. Zelda: Zelda's Revenge themed gaming marathon and should be happening in early 2014.

Hey Paisano's! This years Mariothon has been announced so I'm helping my friend Jordan spread the word!

"Mariothon: Colorado is home to a group of passionate gamers who gather several times a year to play Mario (and other) games for 72 hours in the name of charity. Tune in July 4-7, 2013 for their fourth installment involving a timeless battle between Kirby and Yoshi as they play for The Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation. Visit them at www.bottle-crew.org and help them raise money for an incredible Alzheimer's charity."

Good luck to you guys with your fantastic cause!

Just a little update today, we are very close to 3,500 likes on our Facebook page, and have broken the 500x +1's on our Google+ Super Mario Community, so thanks everyone for that!

There's been a few things added to the site since the last update too included an article about Super Mario Games which were never released but definitely should have been by the New York Film Academy's video game development department published exclusively on TMB.

I also added some more of the old comics from Super Mario Portal, I have now restored all the fan art, fiction, comics that I can actually recover - sadly there was no backups in place so we have to rely on web.archive.org to get back what we could. Sadly a lot of stuff appears lost forever (if anyone knows any other way to recover old image files off the net, please contact me).

The last to be added were Comix Inc's comic collection, Akin and Deji Morrison's comic collections, and about 15-16 one off comics all from the old Super Mario Portal days.

Hey all, just a quick update to let you know that Luke is not able to update at the moment (some problem with his hands) so has left things in the capable hands of myself (Mariomaster91)

I have added a lot of new stuff following last weeks E3 conference in LA in which Nintendo left Microsoft and Sony to compare their expensive media centres and focused on their expanding their games library for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U which in my opinion was exactly the right thing to do - its way too soon for another console.

Nintendo announced a wide range of new games coming soon for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U from many popular franchises, here's what Nintendo have in the pipeline for Mario fans:-

For the Wii U: Game & Wario, Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games, Mario Kart 8, New Super Luigi U, Super Mario 3D World and Super Smash Bros Wii U

For the 3DS: Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, Super Smash Bros 3DS and Yoshi's New Island.

I have added the following media for these titles for your enjoyment:-
