Mario Kart: Double Dash (Gamecube) - Kart information and guide
The Karts available for you to choose will be based on the weight classes of the two players you choose to play with. The below table will show which weight class combinations can be used for each Kart.
Character A Weight | Character B Weight | Kart available |
Light | Light | Light |
Medium | Light | Medium |
Medium | Medium | Medium |
Heavy | Light | Heavy |
Heavy | Medium | Heavy |
Heavy | Heavy | Heavy |
The different Karts are measured by three key stats
-
Weight class - a Heavier Kart will generally have a better top speed, but their acceleration will be poor, also in collisions with lighter cars the heavier weight classes will come out on top. A middle weight kart will generally be a good all-rounder and the light karts feature the best acceleration but lowest top speeds - they are also easy for the larger Karts to bully off the road.
-
Speed - the top speed that Kart can put out when driving uninterrupted. In our rating system 5 is Fastest top speed, 1 is slowest.
-
Acceleration - the higher the cars acceleration the quicker it is off the mark, generally cars with fast acceleration can recover quicker after being hit by a weapon but overall have a lower top speed. Light Karts are the quickest accelerators. In our rating system 5 is Fastest acceleration and 1 is slowest.
