King Koopa has turned the people of Pyramid Land into bricks for his new Koopinx. Mario and friends come to their rescue, only to be caught and get trapped in a pyramid. They need to find a way to save the Mushroom people, but first they need to free themselves.

Even though Luigi has won an art contest, the suspicious Vincent Van Gook takes a liking to Mario's so-called artwork.
